IHG is offering a 100% bonus for members on points purchases through April 11, 2023, which is the second time this year.
IHG frequently sells its points (every one or two months), and the pricing (0.5 cents per point) is the best when IHG sells points with a 100% bonus. Members can buy up to 150,000 points every calendar year before any targeted offers.
This promotion has ended. But you can still purchase IHG points by clicking the button above.

Buy IHG points with a 100% bonus
Before any discounts or bonuses, you can generally buy IHG points for 1 cent each. If you purchase a maximum of 150,000 points with a 100% bonus, you’ll get a total of 300,000 points for $1,500, or a rate of 0.5 cents per point.

Heads up! In order to obtain the optimal rate of 0.5 cents per point, you need to purchase a minimum of 26,000 points due to IHG’s tiered pricing. Prices for point packages between 23,000 and 25,000 are even higher than those for 26,000 points, so it is recommended that you avoid purchasing within that price range.

What are the benefits of IHG Reward Nights?
Of course, the most valuable use of IHG points is to redeem them for award nights.
The following are some benefits of IHG Reward Nights:
- No percentage-based taxes or service charges (resort fees and/or service charges at individual hotels may apply).
- Free Cancellation (award bookings are flexible until shortly before your arrival date, usually available at least one day in advance).
- IHG One Rewards member benefits are available.
- Count towards IHG One Rewards elite status.
- No blackout dates.
Is it worth buying IHG points?
One of the most important reasons for buying IHG points is to save money, as IHG points can often be worth more than 0.5 cents each in many situations. For many properties, purchasing points for redemption is often cheaper than paying cash.
With some exceptions at luxury hotels, a reward night at an IHG property typically costs between 10,000 and 70,000 points. Depending on what it is, you might be better off purchasing the required points than paying the cash price.
IHG One Rewards has dynamic award pricing, which means that the price of an award stay is generally related to the cash price. Therefore, you should buy IHG points when you have a relatively immediate need.
Look at your upcoming travel schedule to see if buying IHG points rather than paying cash for your accommodation would save you money. If you have the means, purchasing points may be worthwhile.
Great use of IHG One Rewards points
Remember that this promotion allows you to purchase IHG points for 0.5 cents each. Therefore, while booking an IHG hotel, remember to compare the purchase cost of points to the cash price.

FAQ
Which credit card should I use to buy IHG points?
Points.com, not IHG, handles transaction processing when you purchase IHG One Rewards points. Therefore, if you use one of the travel rewards credit cards, your purchase won't qualify as travel, and you won't receive a bonus for that category. So, to earn points on your purchase, you should choose one of the best credit cards for daily spending.
Do IHG points expire?
IHG One Rewards points are valid for 12 months for non-elite members. The expiration of your points would be reset by any activity that involved earning or redeeming points. In addition, IHG One Rewards points for elite members never expire.
Are there blackout dates for IHG Reward Nights?
There are no blackout dates for IHG Reward Nights, but there are capacity restrictions. It means that not all standard rooms are available for award redemptions.
Do purchased points count towards IHG elite status?
Purchased points, as well as any bonus points awarded under this promotion, do not count towards IHG One Rewards Elite status.

The terms and conditions of this promotion
This Offer is available to IHG One Rewards members for qualifying purchases of IHG One Rewards points made during the period from 12:00 AM ET April 5, 2023 through 11:59 PM ET April 11, 2023 (“Offer Period”). In order to qualify for this 100% bonus points Offer, a member must make a minimum purchase of 30,000 points per transaction. For example, if a member purchases 29,000 points during the Offer Period, they would not qualify for the 100% bonus. In contrast, if the member purchases 50,000 points during the Offer Period, the member would receive an additional 50,000 points as the 100% bonus, for a total of 100,000 points. The number of points a member may purchase, gift, or receive as a gift during the Offer Period is subject to annual limits under the IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions, which are available on www.ihg.com. Members may purchase a maximum of up to 150,000 points during a calendar year, so the number of points a member can purchase during the Offer Period will depend on how many points the member had already purchased during the same calendar year. For example, if a member had previously purchased 50,000 points in 2023, then the member could only purchase up to a maximum of 100,000 points during the Offer Period and would be eligible to receive the applicable percentage of additional bonus points based only on the number of points purchased during the Offer Period. Similar limits apply to gifting points and receiving points as a gift: A member may gift points to other members, up to a total of 150,000 points during a calendar year for all gifted points combined, and a member may also only receive up to a combined total of 150,000 points as gifts from other members during a calendar year. Purchased points, as well as any bonus points awarded under this Offer, do not count towards IHG One Rewards Elite status. This is an exclusive, non-transferable offer for intended recipients only and may not be forwarded. Offer is subject to change and cannot be combined with any other offer.
Bottom line
When IHG One Rewards offers a buy points promotion with a 100% bonus, it’s time to evaluate if you need more points for any upcoming IHG award redemptions. However, because IHG One Rewards uses dynamic pricing, purchasing points can be risky if you aren’t sure you’ll take the award trip you book with the points you’ve purchased.
Unless you need it immediately, it doesn’t make sense to buy at any bonus level other than 100% (or 50% off), where IHG routinely sells its points.
